When performing a diagnostic test we check common issues and will perform and system specific diagnostics depending on the make and model of the computer. The following list is only some of the tests we perform.

Check for mismatched memory

  • We check for mismatches bus speed or CAS latency between your memory modules. Mismatches can cause application lag and stuttering
  • A check is performed to see if you are using an XMP profile and if your computer is able to use one.
We review the XMP Profiles in your BIOS to see if your computer is running the most optimal settings for your memory.

Memory error checking

  • A check is performed on the actual memory modules for errors or damage.

Processor Test

  • Checking the processors average temperature
  • Check the temperature under load
  • Check the processor for computational errors
  • CPU Cache Test
  • We check the CPU Cache to make sure it does not have memory faults

Hard drive, M.2, MSATA or SATA drive health checks

  • We use the drives built in SMART monitoring to check the health of your drive as reported by the system it’s self
  • a Read/Write test is performed to see if your hard drives performance is as it should be based on the manufacturers specifications

System battery / CMOS battery

  • For laptops we check the quality and life left on your batterie and can advise if it needs replacing.
  • A CMOS battery allows your computer to remember settings, date and time when powered off. We check the voltage of this battery and advise if it needs replacing ( we do not check the CMOS battery on laptops as this would require a full dismantle of the laptop to check the voltage )
